Vratislav Maňák: In a broader plasticity

Born in 1988 in Stříbro. He studied journalism and media studies at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. He worked in various positions at Czech Television and since 2023 has been affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University. He writes for both children and adults and is also engaged in journalism and essay writing. His recent publications include the novella Goethe v Mariánských Lázních (Goethe in Mariánské Lázně, 2024), the scholarly study Orchestrace jedné denunciace (The Orchestration of a Denunciation, 2025), and the essay collection S Wittgensteinem v gay sauně (With Wittgenstein in a Gay Sauna, 2026). “I have long been irritated by the way homosexuality is discussed,” he said about his latest book in an interview for ČT24. “I wanted to present gay identity and gay culture in a broader plasticity.”
