Tomáš Hučko: Threads of thinking, remembering, and storytelling

Born in 1983. He studied philosophy at the Faculty of Arts, Charles University. A journalist, prose writer, playwright, translator, and dramaturge, he publishes in both Slovak and Czech media and in 2017 co-founded the cultural and social monthly Kapitál. He has published a book-length interview with the political scientist Eugen Gindl Na hrane možného (On the Edge of the Possible, 2022) and the novellas Chaconna (2018) and Strieborná metalíza (Silver Metallic, 2025). Patrik Miskovics wrote about his latest book: “With its retro design, Hučko’s book evokes the atmosphere of the 1990s. The nineties with their mirages of rapid economic success, general prosperity, and a cultivated politics modelled on Western countries function here as a kind of zero point, from which threads of thinking, remembering, and storytelling begin to unfold.”
