Nuka Alice Lund: Incantations and stories in the rhythm of a beating heart

Nuka Alice Lund is a Greenlandic performer, singer, and storyteller who is among the prominent figures of the contemporary cultural scene and the revival of traditional Inuit art. In her work, she combines music, storytelling, drumming (qilaatersorneq), and drum singing (inngerneq), an ancient form used to share stories, emotions, and collective experience. She builds on this cultural tradition while bringing it into a contemporary context through her own performances, in which she blends traditional songs with original narratives inspired by personal and communal memory. She performs at international festivals, including Arctic Sounds, and leads workshops focused on traditional singing and working with rhythm and voice.
