Lisathe Møller (1973) is a Greenlandic writer born in Maniitsoq. In her work, she focuses on entirely ordinary people, their everyday lives, and close relationships, while emphasising their limited influence over decisions made on the political level. She first drew literary attention in 2016, when she won first prize in a short story competition organised by the Greenland Reconciliation Commission for the text Eqqarsaatit silarsuaat, sittartorlu (The World of Thoughts and the Dreamer). In 2019, she published the collection Qinngusersaarfik (Observatory), containing eight short stories and forty-four poems, which both thematically and stylistically anticipated her later work. She gained major recognition with the novel Qaamarngup taartullu akisugunneri (The Echoes of Light and Darkness, 2024), published in Danish translation as Genskær af lys og mørke (Reflections of Light and Darkness). It was nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize 2025. In her writing, Møller connects intimate human stories with broader social issues and reflects the transformations of contemporary Greenland, including tensions between tradition and modernity as well as questions of identity. Her work is characterised by a lyrical, sensitive language and a focus on themes of trauma, resilience, and hope. Her books are very popular in Greenland, where readers find in them both a reflection of their own experience and a sense of understanding and hope.
