Simon Stranger: In the House of Evil
 – Norway

When he learned that his wife's close relatives had lived in the house of Henry Rinnan and his gang, where the double agent murdered his fellow citizens at the behest of the Nazis, he decided to reproduce the story of the most hated figure in Norwegian history and his victims, in literary form. The novel about the holocaust and the fervent desire to survive was also published in Czech as Lexikon světla a tmy. By combining historical fact and fiction, Stranger has managed to show how the same historical circumstances create evil in some and courage in others. He was born in 1976 and in addition to novels he writes children's books.
