Pavel Tomeš: Literary Stand-up

Writer, publisher and stand-up comedian. He is the author of a humorous novel about death Až na ten konec dobrý [Except for the End All Right], which won the Magnesia Litera Readers' Award 2022. He also wrote three collections of feuilletons (Facky z Marsu [Slaps form Mars], Zápisky malého tyranosaura [Notes of a Little Tyrannosaurus] and Tohle lidi hodně berou [People Take This A Lot]). In order to achieve maximum harmony between the author and the publisher, he founded his own publishing house Otoč. In addition to writing and publishing his own books, he is also involved in stand-up comedy, you may know him from the TV shows Na stojáka or Comedy club, or from live performances, as well as his own onemanshow Tomeshow. He combines both professions, i.e. stand-up comedy and literature, in his live program Literary Stand-up, the version of which, you can experience on the Authors’ Reading Month. He was born 1977 in Brno, where he lives persistently.
