Month of author´s reading

The literary event called “Month of Author´s Reading“ has been existing since the year 2000. Originally from an enthusiastic action the event has grown into a noticeable cultural happening broadly crossing the borders of its “native Brno and Czech land“. Since 2005 Month of Author´s Reading (further as MAČ) has included foreign programme line of the festival, represented by authors from a chosen foreign country. The festival already hosted authors from Canada, Belarus, France, Poland or Austria, Stuttgart and Berlin.  The foreign line - according to the same pattern- has always been hosting 31 authors. The event lasts throughout the whole month of July (31 days). In one festival day two authors present their work on reading. Traditionally the reading of foreign author starts at 7pm and Czech line programme author reads at 9pm.

The festival held in three countries and four cities: in Polish Wroclaw, Slovak Košice and the cities of Brno and Ostrava, daily  from July 1st - August 3th. In all cities, the program is identical, only with one day delay towards the other one.
