Scepticism and Rejoicing of Věra Nosková
Born in 1947 in Hroznětín, lived in Strakonice for 25 years, and since 1973 in Prague. After high school went through many professions (arranger, textile worker, waitress, education administrator, night schoolmistress, teacher in daycare). Has written a collection of poems called Inkoustové pádlo, 1988 a a novelle Ten muž zemře, 1996. Writes feuilletons and sketches (Je to hustý, 2003), but she attracted general attention mostly with her novel tetralogy: Bereme, co je (2004), Obsazeno (2007), Víme svý (2008) and Ještě se uvidí (2009). The authors says about herself: “Slight scepticism is the spine of my approach towards almost everything, but I try to balance it with the ability to rejoice, reject regret, and feel the optimistic aspects of life“.
