Peter Motýl and the World Seen ‘From Below’
Writes poetry, prose and dramatic texts, comments local literary performance. Born on Agust 26, 1964 in Klatovy. Graduated in Czech studies and History at the Pedagogical faculty in Ostrava. Later, he worked as a postman, doorkeeper, stoker, bookseller, water pumper, nightwatchman etc. He has published twenty books. Jan Nejedlý wrote about the author: “He is an essential empiricist, observer, peculiar documentarist of his times and region“. “Motýl’s world is a world seen ‘from below‘. Among the author’s main topics belong: pub, station, factory, hostel and peripheral town quarters in general. Places full of miners, workers, waiters, guests, minority members, criminals..outsiders of all kind.“
